STATE OF MICHIGAN SPECIAL TRIBUTE

Presented To

WALT EVANS

LET IT BE KNOWN, That it is a distinct pleasure and privilege to extend our thanks and appreciation to Walt Evans for his sincere dedication to our people. As a rising star in country music, Walt has used his talents not only to further his career, but also to support those in need, and it is especially fitting to acknowledge his tremendous efforts.

As a lifelong resident of the Saginaw Bay area, Walt was raised to work hard, and do what was right. Although he had a passion for music from a young age and dreamed about becoming a recording artist, personal events delayed his aspirations for some time. However, his dreams never faded and they have now been realized. In 2006, Walt was honored with his induction into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame. His songs have topped the charts in Europe and he continues to entertain fans from around the globe in concerts. While his accomplishments in music are certainly worth great note, it is the impact he is making in our local communities that are of even greater significance.

Walt has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for those in need. Among some of the worthwhile projects he has contributed to include helping local food banks, assisting our soldiers serving Iraq with home maintenance needs, contributing funds to assist in paying heating bills, purchasing medicine for senior citizens that cannot afford it and helping families that have serious medical issues pay daily expenses. His most recent endeavor is helping to raise money for and awareness of domestic violence not only in Saginaw but around our great state. Clearly Walt Evans is a man of character, passion and tremendous talent and he has used all three of these not for personal gain but to do what is right and it is an honor to recognize his contributions.

IN SPECIAL TRIBUTE, Therefore, this tribute is signed and dedicated to thank Walt Evans for all that he does, both on and off stage. We commend his efforts and wish him the best as he continues to do what he loves.
