What the many Walt Evans fans know is that he is country right down to the soles of his cowboy boots.  No matter what he sings everyone wants to get up and dance.  He is a warm caring person who can sing his songs with such passion in his voice because he has lived life just as his audience has; everyone leaves the show with a smile on their face and a song in their heart.

Walt grew up in the small farming community of Reese Michigan.  Hard work was no stranger to him.  He worked the land, took care of daily chores and played his guitar and sang.  When his children’s mother passed away at a young age he put his dream aside and worked at the local auto factory and provided a good life for his little son and daughter in the beautiful countryside of Saginaw Michigan only 8 miles from where he grew up as a child.  In fact he still lives there today.  The dream never left his heart of one day being up on that big stage for the world to hear and see him perform the songs that were still inside.

And sing he did.  Recently, his star as a country music singer began shining more brightly.  In 2006 Walt was honored with his induction into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame.  In October of 2007 Walt Evans dream became fully awakened with his European release of his album Country Dreams with the expert guidance of Frank Willson, Jim Vest and Earl Owens of BSW Records. 

In 2008 Walt reached the number 1 position on the European play charts in Italy, Poland and Denmark for his song “Not on Earth”; he also reached number 2 on the European CMA Charts with “Not on Earth”.  Walt remained in the top 40 in the same charts for 5 months, with 3 of those months in the top 25.

Along the way, what has meant the most to Walt has been the many stages he has shared with some of the great country legends that he always loved and respected, and the heart- felt memories he has been making with all of the audience members.  Walt loves to see the smiles on their faces as they recall old memories from the past while he sings a classic from one of the legends or the love they have for one of his new songs as it becomes one of their new favorites.  

The man who some deem the heart of country is now speaking out against Domestic Violence and working to make the world a better place one community at a time by creating awareness and much needed funding.  He is starting with his own hometown of Saginaw Michigan.  Walt lets people know “Real tough guys protect people they don’t hurt them.”
